About The Position

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Seamstress to join our team. This role is essential in bringing garment concepts to life through precise sample creation, pattern evaluation, and construction expertise. The ideal candidate has strong experience with industrial sewing equipment, garment construction, and the ability to collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure production-ready designs. WHAT YOU’LL DO Cut patterns and fabrics with precision and efficiency. Sew and assemble garment samples (medical scrubs and related apparel) using industrial sewing machines. Perform requested modifications and alterations to uniform garments, including hemming and tailoring for models. Review patterns for errors or inaccuracies and provide feedback on construction challenges from a production standpoint. Offer clear, concise input on garment construction to support manufacturing feasibility. Identify and communicate pattern inconsistencies, quality concerns, and construction issues. Follow instructions and technical specifications provided by the product development and technical teams. Work from PLM printouts, including measurements, construction details, and sewing guidelines. Maintain accuracy and consistency across all sample production. Meet agreed timelines and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. Utilize approved tools, templates, and standardized methods to ensure repeatable quality. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety standards within the Fit Lab. WHAT YOU’LL BRING Strong knowledge of garment construction, sample-making, and finishing techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical packages and PLM documentation. Proven experience with industrial sewing machinery, including: Single needle/Double needle/Cover stitch/Flatlock/Overlock/Buttonhole machines. Hands-on experience working with both knit and woven fabrics, including: Jersey/Polyester/Spandex blends/Fleece/French Terry/Cotton Twill & Canvas/Sherpa. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions and adapt to changes in product development. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly express issues during product creation to prevent production challenges. 7+ years of work experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
