About The Position

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Apparel Graphic Designer to join our Austin-based team and help shape the visual direction of BURLEBO across apparel, accessories, and seasonal collections. In this role, you will be responsible for developing original artwork, graphics, patterns, prints, typography, and visual concepts from initial idea through production. You’ll work closely with Design, Product Development, Marketing, Merchandising, and Production to create commercially relevant product that feels distinctly BURLEBO while continuing to push the brand forward. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled designer and illustrator who understands apparel, has a strong point of view, and can move seamlessly between creative exploration and production-ready execution. You’ll help build cohesive seasonal collections across outdoor, hunting, athletic, and casual lifestyle categories, balancing brand identity, customer preferences, trends, and commercial opportunity. This position is based at our Austin headquarters.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably within apparel, outdoor, athletic, fashion, or lifestyle brands.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong knowledge of Procreate, InDesign, AI design tools, and other relevant creative software.
• Exceptional illustration and drawing ability, with strong skills in sketching, composition, typography, layout, and developing original artwork.
• Advanced experience creating original, production-ready repeat patterns, prints, and colorways.
• Strong graphic tee and hat design experience, including graphics, logos, typography, illustrations, and embroidery-ready artwork.
• Strong understanding of apparel production and decoration, including screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, patches, garment washes, color separations, print placements, and production file preparation.
• Strong understanding of color, trends, visual culture, and how they translate into relevant apparel graphics and collections.
• Experience with trend forecasting and seasonal concept development; familiarity with resources such as WGSN is a plus.
• Ability to build cohesive collections across multiple apparel categories while maintaining a consistent visual point of view.
• Strong understanding of the outdoor, hunting, athletic, and casual lifestyle markets.
• Ability to balance creative innovation with brand identity, customer preferences, production realities, and commercial viability.
• Fast, flexible, and highly iterative approach to concept development.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of craft.
• Highly collaborative, organized, and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with creative, product, marketing, merchandising, and production teams.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating apparel graphics, illustration, pattern design, typography, and production-ready artwork is required.
• Passion for building distinctive products and visual experiences that feel authentic to the BURLEBO brand.

Responsibilities

• Develop original apparel graphics, illustrations, typography, logos, patterns, prints, and artwork from concept through final production.
• Lead graphic development across tees, hats, outerwear, performance apparel, and other apparel categories.
• Create original, production-ready repeat patterns, prints, and colorways across seasonal collections.
• Develop embroidery-ready artwork, screen print graphics, patches, sublimation artwork, and other decoration applications.
• Translate creative concepts and seasonal direction into compelling, commercially relevant apparel graphics.
• Build cohesive seasonal collections where graphics, patterns, color palettes, typography, and artwork work together across the full product assortment.
• Research emerging trends, visual culture, outdoor and lifestyle markets, and competitive brands to inform creative direction.
• Utilize resources such as WGSN, market research, competitive analysis, and cultural trends to help develop seasonal concepts and visual direction.
• Concept quickly and develop multiple creative directions while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Work closely with Product Development and Production to ensure artwork is technically accurate and ready for manufacturing.
• Prepare production-ready files, including color separations, print placements, embroidery files, repeat patterns, and other necessary artwork.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners throughout the development and production process.
• Maintain organized artwork libraries, design files, colorways, and production assets.
• Present creative concepts and clearly communicate design intent, rationale, and recommendations.
• Respond to feedback and iterate quickly while maintaining the integrity of the overall creative direction.
• Help evolve BURLEBO’s visual language while maintaining consistency across product categories and collections.
