Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance

Ophelia
$120,000 - $130,000Remote

About The Position

Ophelia is a venture-backed, healthcare startup that helps individuals with OUD by providing FDA-approved medication and clinical care through a telehealth platform. Our approach is discreet, convenient, and affordable. We've been successfully operating in 16 states for almost six years and we're excited to continue our growth. We are a team of physicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, researchers and White House advisors, backed by leading technology and healthcare investors working to re-imagine and re-build OUD treatment in America. About The Role As a Senior Analyst at Ophelia, you will support the core financial operations of a growing multi-state operation: monthly close, financial reporting, cash and treasury management, internal ROI analysis, and annual planning. You'll report directly to the FP&A Manager and partner with them closely across each of these areas. Strategic Finance is a small team, but this is a fundamentally cross-functional role - you will regularly be working with Operations, Technology, Marketing, and People team leadership on a variety of project types. What your first year will look like: You'll take ownership of the parts of close and reporting, build a working understanding of the business through its numbers, and grow into broader ownership of internal ROI analyses to drive company growth.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, accounting, or a comparable analytical finance role; with a track record of owning monthly close and reporting cycles.
  • Strong accounting foundation, including accrual concepts and how entries flow through the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills. You can build a model from scratch, and audit someone else's, follow the logic, and find the thing that's wrong with it (if any).
  • Stellar communications and stakeholder management with a passion for aligning all participants; able to create strong points of view to achieve Ophelia’s strategy, backed with data.
  • Passionate about our mission to make evidence-based addiction treatment universally accessible.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare (ideally digital healthcare), multi-state operations, or another regulated environment; or exposure to claims-based revenue
  • Direct experience with Netsuite, Claude & Claude for Excel, or a BI tool such as Lightdash is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the recurring components of the monthly close, and work alongside our external accounting partner to hold the close calendar.
  • Draft the monthly reporting package, covering total company and state-level P&Ls, variable unit economics, and the leadership financials deck, to drive insight into the health of the business.
  • Build and maintain department- and state-level budget versus actual reporting. Work with budget owners across the company to explain variances and raise issues early enough to act on them.
  • Prepare external financial deliverables, including board and lender materials
  • Support annual planning and re-forecast cycles, partnering with department leads to collect and consolidate expense budgets
  • Run ad hoc internal ROI analyses in collaboration with business partners to help drive company decision-making.

Benefits

  • Competitive medical, vision, and health insurance (many plans are fully covered for the employee!)
  • Start with 20 days (4 weeks) of PTO, increasing to 5 weeks after 2 years and 6 weeks after 5 years of tenure
  • 10 company holidays
  • Work From Home Stipend
  • 401k Contribution Platform
  • Additional benefits offered through our benefits provider such as life insurance, short and long term disability, financial wellness, virtual primary care, among others!
