About The Position

The Senior Analyst, Medical Affairs, plays a strategic role in transforming Medical Affairs through insights and analytics. This role involves identifying requirements, defining processes, and driving the strategy recommendations and the development of tools and technologies for data collection, analysis, and insights generation—leveraging advanced analytics, Gen AI, and other emerging technologies. The successful candidate will drive the development of the medical insights and analytics strategy in line with the business objectives, own the end-to-end delivery, measure the impact of insights on operational decision-making, and support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of digital products aligned with business objectives and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in insights, analytics, or digital product management within healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Proven experience managing digital products, processes, and tools to generate impactful insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure and optimize the operational impact of insights solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in a team dynamic.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written).
  • Superior attention to accuracy and detail with minimal management oversight.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines for projects and operational support requests.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with data extraction, blending and transformation tasks using tools like Dataiku, Alteryx, SQL or equivalent.
  • Reporting and data analysis experience using analytics tools to deliver insights (e.g. Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos)
  • Experience with AI, NLP, and Gen AI platforms and their application within a pharmaceutical, healthcare industry or other regulated industries.
  • Hands-on expertise with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tools, such as SQL or Dataiku.
  • Working knowledge of Project Management Lifecycle Methodologies (Agile, waterfall).
  • Knowledge of enterprise technology platforms and tools: Veeva CRM/Salesforce.com, SharePoint, Veeva Vault.

  • Experience in facilitating Training, Learning and Development activities related to solutions launch and systems changes is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Medical Affairs stakeholders to understand their data, processes and insights needs and translates these into strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluates and documents both high-level and detailed business requirements from end-users and transforms them into business process flowcharts and technical requirements for the purposes of execution.
  • Treats medical insights and analytics as a collection of digital products—comprising processes, tools, and systems—designed to optimize data collection, analysis, and insights delivery.
  • Manages the entire lifecycle of these products, from conception to deployment and iterative enhancement.
  • Leads the design, development, and deployment of digital tools and platforms (e.g., dashboards, AI models, Gen AI solutions) to facilitate efficient data collection, transformation, and analysis.
  • Drives the adoption of advanced analytics platforms and emerging AI solutions, ensuring they are integrated into the medical product portfolio to enhance insights quality and operational impact.
  • Supports data extraction, blending, and transformation efforts (using Dataiku and Qlik Sense), ensuring data quality, compliance, and readiness for analytics.
  • Ensures end-to-end execution of analytics projects related to the product portfolio, prioritizing based on business value, stakeholder feedback, and technological feasibility.
  • Oversees technical vendor resources in operational capacity driving user story creation, refinement, testing and launch processes.
  • Develops test scenarios and execute testing activities and quality assurance tasks with both business and technology stakeholders.
  • Develops quality assurance processes and tools to ensure high quality of deliverables.
  • Establishes KPIs to measure the contribution of insights and analytics products to business outcomes, operational efficiencies, and decision-making.
  • Uses these measurements for identification of opportunities and driving continuous improvements.
  • Works closely with Medical Affairs business, IT, and global partners to align strategies, gather feedback, and ensure the products are effectively implemented and adopted.
  • Provides operational support, leads issue investigation, escalation, and resolution follow-through and communication related to Medical Affairs’ data and analytics assets, including but not limited to Qlik Sense dashboards, Dataiku workflows, Veeva CRM, and Veeva Vault, including submission of incident support tickets, as required.
  • Performs systems administration activities related to user access management for reporting and analytics solutions for the Medical Affairs organization.
  • Facilitates change management, including training and user support, to promote the adoption of digital tools and analytics solutions.
  • Ensures all processes and tools comply with industry regulations and internal standards.
