This role is based in midtown Manhattan, New York and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. We work with some of New Zealand's most ambitious and innovative companies, helping them grow internationally and create greater prosperity for New Zealand. Our North America team works across a broad range of sectors, connecting New Zealand businesses with commercial opportunities and helping them succeed in one of the world's most competitive markets. We're looking for a highly organized, collaborative and analytical thinking Business Development Analyst to join our New York team on a 12-month fixed-term engagement. You will work closely alongside a team of Business Growth Advisors, who help New Zealand companies make informed growth decisions, to identify opportunities and understand market dynamics in the US market. This is a highly multi-disciplinary role that provides exposure to a wide range of sectors, including tech and AI, manufacturing, food & beverage and consumer products. The New York office has a strong focus on Food & Beverage, meaning you'll provide analysis for some of New Zealand's leading exporters across dairy, seafood, protein, ingredients, wine and consumer food products. Success in this role requires curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to quickly switch between different customers, industries and business challenges. You'll need to rapidly build an understanding of unfamiliar topics, navigate ambiguity, and translate complex information into practical takeaways and analysis. Working closely with Business Growth Advisors to deliver fast and flexible value, this role’s key responsibilities include: Conducting market, customer, competitor and channel analysis Providing insights and analysis on the landscape, customers, distributors, partners and industry contacts to benefit the commercial growth of New Zealand exporters to the U.S. Leveraging research tools, data platforms, and emerging AI-enabled technologies to gather, analyze, and synthesize information into practical commercial analysis Preparing presentations, reports, briefing papers, and customer-ready materials Monitoring market trends, industry developments, and emerging opportunities. This role is based in Midtown Manhattan, New York, and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. Light travel may be required to attend industry events, and team activities. This position works standard East Coast US business hours with some evening flexibility required to work across the New Zealand morning timezone as well.
