About The Position

This is an intern conversion role for 2026, leading to a Full-Time Senior Analyst position in the Accounting and Finance Development Program (AFDP) in 2027. The AFDP is an accelerated development program designed to fast-track careers at the world's largest retailer. Participants complete four six-month rotations in different accounting and finance teams across four segments: Walmart US, Sam’s Club, International, and Corporate. The program provides coaching, mentorship, executive exposure, peer networking, and a development curriculum. Participants will play a role in the company's transformation into an omnichannel experience provider. The program aims to develop future leaders, with participants exiting in 24 months with influence over their next team placement. The AFDP has two tracks: Finance & Strategy, focusing on Commercial Finance areas like Strategy, Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing, Real Estate, and FP&A, with potential rotations in Controllership or Audit; and Accounting, focusing on Controllership and Audit sub-teams, including External Reporting, Global Internal Controls, Consolidations, and Segment support. The program includes four six-month rotations, 4 weeks of dedicated training, access to senior leadership, a collaborative cohort environment, mentorship, coaching sessions, and individualized development planning.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergrad or masters program with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics or a related field at the time of application with a graduation date prior to June 2027.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • A successful candidate will not require sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field OR 2 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Complete four six-month rotations in different accounting and finance teams across Walmart US, Sam’s Club, International, and Corporate segments.
  • Participate in a structured experience providing coaching, mentorship, executive exposure, peer networking, and an industry-leading development curriculum.
  • Gain exposure to financial planning, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic decision support, and initiative implementation (Finance & Strategy Track).
  • Complete rotations within Controllership and Audit, including areas like External Reporting, Global Internal Controls, Consolidations, and Segment support (Accounting Track).
  • Engage in 4 weeks of dedicated training to elevate proficiency in leadership, technical, and soft skills, including a capstone experiential learning component.
  • Attend frequent sessions with senior leadership, executive roundtables, and AFDP-only experiences at Stores, Clubs, and Supply Chain facilities.
  • Participate in collaborative environment anchored by the AFDP cohort and alumni network.
  • Engage in formal peer and senior leader mentorship.
  • Participate in group coaching sessions.
  • Receive individualized development planning support, participate in assessments, and attend coaching debrief sessions.
