About The Position

This is an intern conversion role for a 2027 Full-Time Senior Analyst position within the Accounting and Finance Development Program (AFDP). This program is designed to accelerate the careers of participants, placing them on a fast track at Walmart. Participants will complete four six-month rotations in different accounting and finance teams across four segments: Walmart US, Sam’s Club, International, and Corporate. The program offers a structured experience with coaching, mentorship, executive exposure, peer networking, and a development curriculum. The role involves contributing to Walmart's transformation into an omnichannel experience provider. The AFDP has two tracks: Finance & Strategy, focusing on areas like Strategy, Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing, Real Estate, and FP&A, with exposure to financial planning, data analysis, financial modeling, and strategic decision support. The Accounting track focuses on Controllership and Audit, with rotations in External Reporting, Global Internal Controls, Consolidations, and Segment support, as well as Audit. Participants will exit the program in 24 months with influence over their next team placement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergrad or masters program with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics or a related field at the time of application with a graduation date prior to June 2027.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • A successful candidate will not require sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field OR 2 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Complete four six-month rotations spanning multiple operating segments (Walmart U.S., Sam’s Club, International, and Corporate).
  • Participate in 4 weeks of dedicated training designed to elevate proficiency across a range of leadership, technical, and soft skills, including a capstone experiential learning component.
  • Engage in frequent access to senior leadership, executive roundtables, and AFDP-only experiences at Stores, Clubs, and Supply Chain facilities.
  • Collaborate within a cohort and leverage a strong alumni network.
  • Participate in formal peer and senior leader mentorship.
  • Engage in group coaching sessions.
  • Receive individualized development planning support, participate in assessments, and attend coaching debrief sessions.
  • Gain exposure to financial planning, data analysis, financial modeling, strategic decision support, and initiative implementation (Finance & Strategy Track).
  • Gain exposure to External Reporting, Global Internal Controls, Consolidations, Segment support, and Audit (Accounting Track).
