About The Position

The Senior Manager, Alliances is responsible for continuously improving implementation and partner relationship management best practices and driving Caris to be recognized as a biopharma partner of choice. This professional owns and/or oversees execution, delivery, and relationship management of programs with Caris' biopharma and biotech partners, maximizing the value of partnerships. They collaborate with Caris BioPartnering leaders to understand in-flight contractual discussions, ensure delivery of contractual obligations, and advise on feasible alternatives to drive successful client relationships. This leader develops deep expertise in Caris' unique capabilities and applies that expertise—or enables a team to apply it—to address real-world needs for alliance decision-makers and biopharma partners. Their efforts support research and development activities, novel target identification, indication expansion, commercial efficiency, clinical trial enrollment and success, companion diagnostics, molecular profiling, real-world data initiatives, precision medicine programs, and target discovery. The Senior Manager collaborates closely with Business Development, Clinical Operations, Data Science, R&D, Product Development, Operations, Regulatory, Marketing, IT, Lab Operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders to align efforts, foster communication, streamline decision-making, optimize resources, and ensure alliance objectives are achieved.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and 4+ years of professional experience in one or more of the following domains:Molecular biology, clinical molecular diagnostics, or oncology; Managing multimodal real-world data relationships or repositories, drug development or discovery, clinical research or study managemen, product management, companion diagnostics projects, healthcare implementation, delivery, or program management
  • Prior experience in a manager-level role or higher.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general business use of internet-based tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory and quality frameworks (e.g., CLIA, CAP, GMP, GCP, IVDR, HIPAA) and how they impact day-to-day operations and deliverables.
  • Experience delivering—or partnering to deliver—oncology offerings, laboratory services, therapeutic programs, healthcare data products, or clinical-trial enrollment solutions.
  • Prior experience leading cross-functional teams and/or direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Manage or oversee a portfolio of strategic alliances programs, including oversight and participation in the following:
  • Strategic value and alliance health: Conduct due diligence to gain a thorough understanding of the partner’s organization, objectives, and value drivers. Lead periodic health checks. Execute annual operating plans aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Contract management: Guide internal project teams with respect to opportunities and constraints arising from partnership agreements. Ensure project aims, deliverables, and objectives are met.
  • Delivery: Lead a prescriptive delivery, gathering partner requirements, and making recommendations about the provisioning of Caris solutions. Direct delivery team from program inception to completion of final deliverables, ensuring high quality execution of alliance commitments. Align business needs to workstream deliverables, managing timeline and technical performance. Communicate prioritization, organize team activities, escalate potential roadblocks, and track to program goals.
  • Process management: Establish smooth operations, preparation of governance meetings and decision-making. Lead partner implementations in a way that exceeds partner expectations and meets timelines.
  • Alignment and relationship management: Shepherd intra- and inter-company alignment and communication; Lead efforts for increased mutual understanding and trust. Drive continuous improvement of the alliance. Enhance and redesign governance. Identify incremental expansion opportunities. Serve as an internal solution and process SME for expansion, validating feasibility, risks resource requirements, and timelines.
  • Proactive risk management: Identify, assess, and communicate partner needs, risks, and dependencies. Lead mitigation planning and issue resolution.
  • Customer and Business Excellence: Demonstrate strong competency in Caris’s solutions and effectively communicate the value of Caris offerings. Provide best-practice recommendations to partners and tailor delivery approaches to their needs. Build, maintain, and expand strong customer relationships through partner focus, professionalism, reliability, and responsiveness. Execute the best practices according to implementation and relationship management. Mentor colleagues and contribute to team capability development. Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives and pilot new approaches. Provide account-level forecasting inputs, including deliverable dates, sample volumes, risks, assumptions, and capacity considerations, as appropriate.
