About The Position

SMX is seeking a Senior Agile Delivery Analyst to serve as the embedded delivery-management and workflow coordination lead for an assigned ARES value stream, product area, platform function, or delivery team. The role works closely with Government Product Managers, the ARES PMO Lead, technical leads, developers, data engineers, functional experts, and stakeholders to translate priorities and mission needs into actionable work and keep workload, delivery flow, risks, dependencies, and commitments visible and manageable. This is not solely a Scrum Master role. The analyst applies Agile, Kanban, and other practical delivery-management approaches as appropriate, with a primary focus on organizing work, maintaining delivery flow, coordinating across stakeholders, and providing reliable management insight to program leadership. ARES is an enterprise data and analytics capability supporting Army financial management, audit readiness, logistics and asset reporting, enterprise resource planning modernization, and other mission needs through trusted data products, pipelines, dashboards, and decision support. The analyst supports the work lifecycle from intake through analysis, triage, backlog refinement, prioritization support, development, delivery, release, and sustainment. The position maintains a structured Jira backlog and useful Confluence documentation; coordinates team routines and release readiness; tracks work, capacity, risks, dependencies, and operational demand; and produces clear status updates, reports, summaries, and briefings. The role also captures stakeholder feedback and lessons learned, supports continuous improvement, and participates in the VSA community of practice to implement common ARES standards for visibility, reporting, documentation, risk escalation, and delivery coordination. The proposed salary range is $99,200–$165,300 USD. Benefits include health insurance, paid leave, and retirement. The position requires a current active Secret clearance. SMX does not sponsor immigration-related employment authorization for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Current active Secret clearance.
  • At least 6 years of experience supporting project delivery, program delivery, business analysis, product operations, technical requirements analysis, or comparable functions in a technical environment.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience using Jira and Confluence to manage work, maintain documentation, track delivery progress, and generate reports.
  • Experience supporting technical delivery teams, such as software development, data engineering, analytics, DevOps, platform operations, or enterprise IT services.
  • Experience supporting an end-to-end work lifecycle: intake, analysis, triage, refinement, prioritization support, development, delivery, release, and sustainment.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous requests or stakeholder needs into clear, actionable work items, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, or functional descriptions.
  • Experience facilitating backlog refinement, Kanban or workflow reviews, delivery coordination, task follow-up, and team-level risk or dependency discussions.
  • Ability to analyze Jira or related work-management data to identify workload trends, bottlenecks, delivery risks, blocked work, capacity constraints, and operational demand.
  • Strong organizational, written communication, verbal communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, maintain clear documentation, and collaborate productively across technical, functional, Government, and contractor teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting enterprise data, analytics, dashboard, data-pipeline, software, platform, or IT service-management programs.
  • Experience supporting a complex Government, DoW, Army, or other Federal program.
  • Experience with Kanban, Lean delivery management, Agile delivery, product operations, IT service management, or service-desk workflows.
  • Experience preparing executive-ready status updates, management briefings, risk summaries, or decision-support materials.
  • Certified ScrumMaster, PMI-ACP, ITIL, Kanban, CBAP, PMP, or similar credential.
  • Functional familiarity with financial management, logistics, audit readiness, or related Army mission areas.
  • Functional knowledge of Army Finance or Logistics is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the delivery-management and workflow coordination lead for an assigned ARES value stream, product area, platform function, or delivery team.
  • Translate priorities and mission needs into structured, actionable work with Government Product Managers, PMO personnel, technical leads, functional experts, and stakeholders.
  • Support the work lifecycle from intake, analysis, and triage through backlog refinement, prioritization support, development, delivery, release, and sustainment.
  • Maintain a clear, current, appropriately structured Jira backlog under the direction of the Government Product Manager and in coordination with the ARES PMO Lead.
  • Ensure work items contain sufficient context, including outcomes, scope, priority, affected users or stakeholders, acceptance criteria, dependencies, assumptions, and operational or service impacts.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement, Kanban or flow reviews, delivery coordination sessions, risk and dependency discussions, and action follow-up.
  • Apply Agile and Kanban practices pragmatically to improve visibility, predictability, and coordination without imposing processes that do not improve delivery or decision quality.
  • Track and communicate work in progress, blocked work, backlog readiness, aging, delivery forecasts, capacity constraints, operational workload, risks, and dependencies.
  • Distinguish and track capability work, enhancements, defects, incidents, data-quality issues, access requests, routine support, and other operational work to help the program understand capacity use.
  • Coordinate with technical leads and delivery personnel on estimates, sequencing, technical dependencies, release considerations, and external coordination requirements.
  • Escalate material risks, blockers, cross-team dependencies, and capacity conflicts to the PMO Lead and appropriate Government or contractor leads.
  • Support release readiness by coordinating work-item completion, validation needs, stakeholder awareness, release documentation, known limitations, and follow-on work.
  • Maintain Confluence documentation, including team working agreements, requirements artifacts, decision and action records, release information, and knowledge-transfer material.
  • Develop concise status updates, management summaries, briefings, and Jira-based reports that accurately reflect team conditions and support leadership decisions.
  • Capture stakeholder feedback, customer-support themes, recurring issues, and lessons learned, and ensure relevant information informs backlog refinement and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the VSA community of practice led by the PMO Lead to implement common ARES standards for work visibility, reporting, documentation, risk escalation, and delivery coordination.
