About The Position

ZipStaff is seeking a Senior Agile Delivery Coach to provide hands-on operational and execution coaching across the Fleet delivery ecosystem for a leading transportation organization. The coach partners with active release trains, product teams, engineering squads, and operational stakeholders to build sustainable agility and translate enterprise operating model principles into disciplined execution cadences, clear backlogs, proactive dependency tracking, and predictable value delivery. The role combines pragmatic agile coaching and operational acumen to reduce delivery friction, improve team flow, and raise agile maturity across complex, highly regulated enterprise systems. This is an on-site position in Washington, DC, with periodic travel along the Northeast corridor for quarterly PI Planning events and key working sessions. The role is a W2 contract through ZipStaff; C2C and 1099 arrangements are not accepted.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of hands-on agile coaching and delivery leadership experience guiding multi-team programs, Agile Release Trains, and technical squads in complex enterprise environments.
  • At least 4 years of prior experience working directly in IT, software development, operations technology, or enterprise systems engineering.
  • Practical command of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and hybrid Waterfall-to-Agile frameworks, with the ability to apply them within real-world operational constraints.
  • Advanced hands-on proficiency with Jira Software and Confluence for sprint- and release-level tracking, and experience using Jira Align for program-level rollups and dependency tracking.
  • Active SAFe certification, such as SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC), SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent recognized credentials such as ICAgile or PSM/CSM.
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and meeting-facilitation skills, with a proven ability to align technical contributors with business and operational managers.
  • Ability to work in an active, camera-on virtual team environment.
  • Willingness to travel periodically along the Northeast corridor for quarterly PI Planning events and key working sessions.
  • Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC.

  • Map and monitor operational dependencies across engineering, operations technology, infrastructure, and third-party delivery partners to protect delivery milestones.
  • Promote consistent use of Jira Software, Confluence, and Jira Align, and establish delivery metrics such as velocity, cycle time, throughput, and say/do ratios to support continuous improvement.
