About The Position

The Senior AEM Content Author is responsible for designing components and providing support to web applications based on the AEM platform. This role involves working independently to own the design and authoring of simple and complex websites, providing accurate time estimates for tasks. The Senior Content Author will work with web applications and various front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript, and is comfortable with content management systems.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience working with enterprise-level Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Sitecore, or TeamSite.
  • Advanced hands-on experience in AEM authoring, including content creation, page assembly, and use of wireframes, design prototypes, and reusable components to deliver dynamic web experiences.
  • Proven client-facing experience, including direct communication with clients, stakeholder management, expectation alignment, and coordination across cross-functional teams in fast-paced digital environments.
  • Thorough understanding of CMS architecture, templates, and component-based design, with a focus on responsive and cross-browser development best practices.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with a foundational understanding of CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern front-end and development practices, including mobile-first design, Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, and object-oriented principles.
  • Proven ability to build and test proof-of-concept prototypes, integrate CMS-based components, and perform root-cause analysis of authoring, rendering, or content delivery issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to clearly document authoring standards and provide guidance to other content authors or business users.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to maintain consistency in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, participation in sprint planning and retrospectives, and use of tools like Jira, Confluence, or other project/time-tracking platforms.
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish and English (C1 reading, writing & conversation).

Nice To Haves

  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) certification such as Adobe Certified Expert, AEM Sites Author.
  • Experience with version-control systems (Git, SVN, Mercurial).
  • Familiarity with AEM workflow configuration, metadata management, or digital asset management (DAM) best practices.
  • Exposure to multi-site management (MSM) and localization workflows within AEM.
  • Basic understanding of SEO optimization techniques and how structured content within AEM can improve search visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and manage web content and applications using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) components implemented by the Development team.
  • Author, edit, and publish web pages using predefined AEM templates and components, collaborating with developers and designers to ensure content accuracy, functionality, and consistency across the site.
  • Ensure high-quality execution of digital assets, following modern web standards (HTML5, CSS3, WCAG accessibility compliance) and responsive design principles for optimal performance on desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.
  • Work closely with Creative, Business, Technology and QA teams to ensure the technology will be functional and meet performance targets on all web platforms (mobile, desktop).
  • May help oversee and test the development of components.
  • Implement user and business requirements which are composed of multiple authoring activities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of content workflows, authoring guidelines, and component libraries to ensure repeatable, scalable content operations aligned with the organization’s best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve content-related issues, including broken components, styling discrepancies, and metadata errors, escalating technical issues when necessary to the AEM Development or DevOps teams.
  • Proactively provide feedback on policies and procedures when an opportunity for improvement exists.
  • Stay current with AEM updates and digital publishing trends, proactively recommending enhancements or new features that could improve the authoring experience or content performance.
