About The Position

A unique opportunity to shape Rio Tinto's sales portfolios, with a focus on promoting a value over volume approach. This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded professional to shape Rio Tinto’s sales portfolios, driving a value-over-volume approach. Reporting to the Senior Manager Portfolio Metal Atlantic and collaborating with different operating sites, logistics, procurement, finance and other support functions, you will optimize the short- to mid-term Remelt, Slab, and Recycling portfolio to align commercial strategy with market conditions and operational capabilities. Define recommended sell volumes, product mix, purity, and allocation to maximize portfolio value. Recommend buy/sell price levels and margin levers based on market dynamics, aligned with the Senior Manager Portfolio Metal Atlantic. Monitor and optimize portfolio value to capture arbitrage opportunities (geographic, time, product, physical vs. financial, logistics). Communicate profitability drivers, risks, and trade-offs clearly to internal stakeholders to support decisions. Oversee contract tracking, amendments, and cancellations; support sales on execution discipline and contract setup. Position the portfolio across supply chain and trading by monitoring positions, production availability, and value-added flows; support freight strategy and nominations with Logistics/Marine. Enable performance management and S&OP by delivering data-driven insights, tracking performance vs plan/full-potential, and championing a value-over-volume mindset.

Requirements
