About The Position

A unique opportunity to shape Rio Tinto's sales portfolios, with a focus on promoting a value over volume approach. This is a permanent role based in Montreal, Quebec or Chicago, Illinois. We are looking for a Manager, Portfolio Metal Atlantic, to provide decision-making support for the Commercial Atlantic Portfolio team. You will set recommended sell volumes, product mix, purity, and allocations to maximize portfolio value. You will recommend buy/sell price levels to optimize margin, in alignment with the Senior Manager Portfolio Metal Atlantic. You will monitor and optimize portfolio value to capture arbitrage opportunities (geographic, time, product, physical vs. financial, and logistics). You will analyze and communicate profitability drivers, risks, and trade-offs to internal stakeholders. You will track portfolio positions, production availability, and value-added flows; adjust positioning to optimize outcomes and performance vs. plan. You will support freight and logistics execution (including vessel/barge nominations) and contribute to multimodal supply chain and distribution hub optimization. You will manage pricing risk by recommending hedging strategies, supporting execution with Sales, and tracking performance versus benchmarks.
