About The Position

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is seeking a Senior Advisor, Digital Transformation to join the Office of the CIO & Digital Transformation Branch within the I&IT Division. This role is crucial in shaping the future of AGCO’s digital and technology landscape by leading the development, evolution, and execution of IT strategies that support the agency’s mandate and strategic priorities. The Senior Advisor will support the definition and advancement of AGCO’s IT and digital strategies, including the digital transformation roadmap. This involves collaborating with stakeholders to identify digitization opportunities, advance business capabilities, and enable the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI governance. The role also focuses on establishing and sustaining digital maturity and transformation performance measurement through the development of metrics, frameworks, and reporting mechanisms. This position is ideal for a strategic generalist comfortable with ambiguity, senior stakeholder engagement, research, analysis, and translating insights into actionable plans.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, IT, or a related field, combined with a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience in a senior advisor or analyst role.
  • Certification or practical knowledge of project management, business analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies: Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile/Scrum certified, Lean Six Sigma.
  • Proven leadership experience in mentoring and coaching team members and team development.
  • Experience in driving digital transformation and business engagement in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
  • Experience in developing and documenting technological strategic plans and reporting on OKR’s and other performance measures for diverse audiences.
  • Well-versed in consulting approaches, tools, techniques, and roles and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients/stakeholders within and outside their area.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, senior management presentations, and issues management.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, objectives, or activities.
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people is required.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be subject to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and formulate an engagement plan to work with various stakeholders in identifying opportunities to integrate digitization and mature business capabilities through digital efforts.
  • Drive research, analysis, and business-case driven solutioning of organizational issues and recommendations that align with the agency’s digital strategy and overall IT strategic plans and business goals.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the implementation (and adoption) of the enterprise digital maturity plan.
  • Define, generate, and adapt strategic models or frameworks that help to simplify complex business and IT problems supporting AGCO’s digital maturity.
  • With minimal oversight, lead the development of strategic deliverables such as frameworks, roadmaps, presentations, and analyses that create meaningful insights to assist in overcoming business challenges.
  • Create, manage, and present documents, briefings, and artifacts, as required, representing I&IT to executive leaders such as C-Suite and Executive Board members.
  • Support integration of strategic planning, performance, and prioritization across AGCO divisions.
  • Support in the development and management of digital transformation program performance measurement and reporting, such as Objectives and Key Results (OKR’s), performance metrics, IT portfolio reporting, as well as contribution and business value of IT strategic investments.
  • Lead stakeholders through consultative and facilitative workshops and meetings, drawing relevant insight and data.
  • Provide strategic counsel to key stakeholders regularly, including thought leadership and expertise to expand business relationships.
