This role provides direct input to the Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) by performing manufacturing feasibility assessments for product design, engineering changes, scope changes, and quality concerns. The engineer will develop process flow and plant layout requirements, review product gaging and packaging strategies, and assess their impact on the overall manufacturing strategy. Responsibilities include defining capital equipment and tooling needs while adhering to program budgets, project managing the procurement and acceptance of equipment and tooling, and facilitating the implementation of production equipment/tooling into the manufacturing facility, including any necessary technical training. The role also involves completing Process FMEA and managing RPN risks. Additional responsibilities include assessing product, process, equipment, and tooling strategies for potential ergonomic concerns and managing resolution actions, supporting customer part needs through pilot, testing, run-at-rate, and internal process sign-offs, and creating and supporting continuous improvement projects.
