About The Position

To provide expertise and access to district services in the areas of accountability, data and reporting strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives to assist school and district leaders with achieving district goals.

Requirements

Master’s degree (earned doctorate from an accredited institution desirable).
Three (3) years of experience in large-scale data analysis and visualization involving the use of query languages or statistical software (e.g., SQL, SPSS, and/or R) for instructional purposes related to accountability or continuous improvement initiatives (experience in educational leadership administration preferred).
Demonstrated success in the management of large projects and working with others in a collaborative manner to establish goals and objectives, develop action plans, conduct data analysis, and communicate results.
Demonstrated knowledge of data management, analysis, interpretation, reporting and visualization strategies.
Demonstrated experience in the use of query languages, statistical analysis software (e.g., SQL, SPSS, and/or R), and data visualization applications (e.g., Cognos, Tableau, Power BI).
Demonstrated ability to identify key data sources to meet district informational needs.
Demonstrated skill and experience in writing and presenting data in a variety of formats to administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, and members of the community.
Demonstrated ability to independently plan, execute, and monitor the completion of tasks and projects according to established timelines with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work, communicate, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability in planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring processes related to all areas of responsibility in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in priorities and work assignments.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate group processes and engage in conflict resolution, planning, and decision-making between school and district leadership to build consensus and develop goals.

Evaluate data needs of district and school leaders, as well as data reporting needs of the district, and assist in developing plans to provide actionable responses.
Ensure that the development and implementation of procedures and processes are produced and in place to meet critical district, state, and federal requirements related to areas of responsibility, and clearly communicate requirements to district and school leaders.
Carry out and monitor school accountability processes to include regular updates of accountability changes to district and school personnel through a variety of forms in a focused way that can be adequately addressed in the time available.
Ensure that updated documentation is produced and available for all processes directly related to areas of responsibility as identified by the supervisor(s).
Manage assigned projects, data requests, and projects and maintain timely and accurate information.
Maintain collaborative working relationships with other district divisions and departments (e.g., Information Technology Services, Teaching and Learning, and Human Resources), and external stakeholders to implement data solutions for district and school needs.
Provide leadership in working with district and school leaders to identify and monitor practices and processes that achieve outcomes that support the district’s model of instruction.
Support and monitor clear and measurable goals for all relevant areas of responsibility focused on critical needs for improving student achievement and the needed operational support within the district.
Provide job-embedded professional development through sharing information and providing expertise regarding current trends and best practices in data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
Keep the supervisor and other key people informed of critical issues about which they should be aware.
Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.

Develop leadership in subordinates.
Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
