About The Position

The Senior Acquisition SME is the principal contractor advisor to OCPO, supporting acquisition planning and coordination between OCPO and HUD Program Offices. The role facilitates stakeholder discussions, advises Contracting Officers, identifies procurement challenges early, and helps acquisitions progress on schedule. This is a contractor support role: acquisition decisions, contractual authority, and inherently governmental functions remain with authorized Government personnel. Work products consist of recommendations, analyses, and preliminary drafts for Government review. The position provides senior-level acquisition advice and technical support, assists with stakeholder engagement and internal coordination, and supports customer-facing communication about acquisition processes, documentation, milestones, and timelines. The contractor tracks issues and recommends next steps while operating within contractor support boundaries and protecting procurement-sensitive, source-selection, and Privacy Act information. This is an independent contractor engagement at $140,000 per year for the full-time Base Period. Continued work in Option Periods depends on HUD exercising each option and funding availability. The agreement ends automatically if HUD cancels the supporting task order. The contractor provides their own equipment and workspace, gives McGarity at least seven days' notice before ending the engagement, and shares planned time offline with the McGarity lead two weeks in advance. McGarity is closed on Federal holidays.
