About The Position

The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations through analysis, reconciliations, and reporting. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated professional who enjoys solving complex issues, working independently, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team. This is a Full-Time position (40 hours/week) with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The compensation range is $28.00 - $36.50/hr (Non-Exempt). Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills. This is an on-site position in Endwell, NY.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in an accounting, finance or business discipline with 1-2 years of relevant experience; 3-5 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and drive solutions
  • Demonstrated initiative and ownership in completing work accurately and efficiently
  • Flexibility to learn multiple functions and provide cross-coverage within a team-based environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a small, highly interdependent team
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs as well as proficiency with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting, finance, or business-related degree preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
  • Prior experience within financial services, banking, credit unions, or a regulated environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts, including researching and resolving variances
  • Support key accounting functions such as fixed assets, lease accounting, and loan participation processing
  • Prepare and review financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with regulatory and internal standards
  • Execute file loads and support data integrity for accounting and reporting processes
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and take ownership of timely resolution
  • Collaborate with accounting team members to ensure consistent coverage across functions and responsibilities
