About The Position

The Senior Accountant position will support the company's corporate accounting and finance department ensuring the accuracy of various financial records. This position is responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts and will assist in developing financial statements and reports. The person in this position will work in a collaborative team environment within a supportive corporate culture.

Requirements

  • Understanding of the application of US GAAP
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant software applications
  • Excellent problem solving, project management, and communication skills
  • Good organizational abilities and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively identify issues, and develop solutions through research and critical thinking.
  • At least an associate degree in accounting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using SAP
  • 2-4+ years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is strongly preferred
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including the ability to create complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analyses.
  • Learn quickly and maintain a positive attitude
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills, including the ability to effectively leverage artificial intelligence to improve efficiency and decision making
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills – verbal and written communication
  • Be a self-starter, capable of working independently
  • Maintain high attention to detail even while working on repetitive tasks
  • Proven track record of excelling within team environments
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and automation throughout the transaction cycle and follow through with documentation, transformation, and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in completing the monthly close process and ensuring journal entries and reconciliations are accurate in accordance with US GAAP and have appropriate supporting documentation
  • Supports external audits by providing audit requests, responding to inquiries, ensuring compliance with internal controls and implementing audit recommendations.
  • Reconcile cash accounts
  • Contributes to an efficient accounting department by streamlining accounting processes and documenting procedures
  • Analyzes financial data and effectively communicates findings and makes recommendations
  • Responds to questions from business locations regarding accurate internal accounting and reporting in accordance with company procedures and policies
  • Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records and reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and assignments as directed by management
