About The Position

This is a short-term opportunity for a Senior Accountant, expected to last six to nine months. The role is hybrid, requiring candidates to report on-site 2-3 times per week. The duties and responsibilities are representative of the range of tasks assigned and are not exhaustive.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of processors and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in accounting.
  • At least three years of experience in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely financial records in accordance with GAAP, federal/state/local laws, and procurement regulations.
  • Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review journal entries for complex transactions, including accruals, prepaids, and contract accounting.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations (e.g., accounts receivable/payable, cash, investments, payroll, etc.).
  • Participate in month- and year-end close processes, including preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and schedules for internal management and external auditors.
  • Analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and risks, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and technology solutions to streamline accounting operations.
  • Assist with reporting needs.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
