About The Position

The Senior Accountant will plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions. This role provides direct supervision of the accounting team in coordination with the CFO. Responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing general ledger details, researching budget discrepancies, and preparing adjusting entries. The Senior Accountant manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data, prepares internal and external financial statements, and reconciles sub-ledger to general ledger account balances. This position also performs monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses, prepares year-end data and annual/quarterly reporting, and assists the CFO with budget preparation and evaluation of prospective residents' financial criteria. Additionally, the Senior Accountant oversees payroll-related accounting and maintains knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll systems.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in general ledger, accruals, financial analysis, month end close, and budgeting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications; Advanced in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in accounting ERP system.
  • Experience in HRM database software.

  • Senior living or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Sage Intacct is a plus.
  • UKG is a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions.
  • Provide direct supervision of the accounting team in coordination with CFO.
  • Review and analyze details of general ledger, research budget discrepancies, and prepare adjusting entries as needed.
  • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
  • Responsible for the preparation of internal and external financial statements.
  • Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses.
  • Responsible for the preparation of data needed at year-end, as well as various annual and quarterly reporting to outside agencies.
  • Assist CFO with the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets and coordinate departmental budget information.
  • Assist CFO with evaluation of prospective residents' ability to meet financial criteria for admission.
  • Oversee payroll-related accounting, including review of payroll journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Maintain a knowledge of the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll systems to serve as a supporting role as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
