About The Position

The Sr. Accountant applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. This role involves compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. The accountant will analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position. This role also establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures, and devises and implements manual or computer-based systems for general accounting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience required.
  • Demonstrated personal computer proficiency using the Microsoft operating system and Office software. Ability to develop complex spreadsheets and manipulate data.
  • Experience with large enterprise-wide financial systems (Meditech preferred). Ability to extract data for use on personal computers.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Good communication and organization skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and high level of accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Maryland healthcare experience desired.
  • CPA desired.
