About The Position

Bestow is seeking a Senior Accountant for its General Ledger team. This role is crucial for scaling the company's financial infrastructure and will report to the GL Accounting Manager. The Senior Accountant will own material segments of general ledger operations and lead company expenditures, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The position is focused on process improvement, automation, and building a more resilient financial system, rather than just maintenance.

Requirements

4 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Foundation in public accounting at a Big 4 or national firm followed by industry experience in a high-growth SaaS or Fintech environment.
Strong understanding of AP operations and the controls required to keep high-volume transaction environments clean.
Technical GAAP foundation; ability to research a standard and draft an initial position.
Hands-on experience with an ERP like NetSuite.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Ability to document a position clearly for both internal reviewers and external auditors.

Nice To Haves

Experience with ASC 842, 350-40, 340-40, or 718.
Working knowledge of Ramp or Bill.com.
Active CPA license.

Responsibilities

Actively identify repetitive or error-prone workflows and drive automation across the tech stack to ensure tools are properly integrated and operating as a reliable single source of truth.
Serve as the primary lead for all company spend, reviewing AP invoices, corporate card transactions, and employee reimbursements to ensure proper coding and policy compliance in a high-volume environment.
Act as the point of contact for vendors and employees on payables, resolving billing discrepancies and partnering with internal teams to educate them on expense policies.
Own specific, material segments of the GL, producing audit-ready reconciliations and workpapers while meeting firm close deadlines with a high standard of documentation.
Support the GL Accounting Manager during the annual audit by providing clear support for financial statement positions.
Execute and refine the control framework to maintain clean operations, flagging gaps and enforcing protocols.
Research accounting standards, apply guidance, and document positions, with increasing ownership of formal accounting memos in areas like capitalized software (ASC 350-40) and stock-based compensation (ASC 718).
