About The Position

Our Senior General Ledger Accountants are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing complex financial reports in compliance with industry standard and company policies, and performing detailed financial statements and peer reviews. The position requires thorough understanding of industry budget presentation, complex mixed used clients and annual reconciliation, loan amortization schedules, insurance claim reconciliations, annual audits and adjustments, and other complex industry accounting requirements. Each General Ledger Accountant averages 20 clients based on size and complexity. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of all clients, requiring a combination of analytical skills and leadership abilities. The position reports to the Director of Accounting and works closely with all internal departments: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Management and Association Managers. Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, knowledge of US GAPP and financial reporting standards, specifically those related to industry best practices for accrual and fund accounting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey financial information.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently.
  • Dedication to client satisfaction.
  • Able to prioritize workload to ensure consistent month end close deadlines are met while maintaining accuracy in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial statements by preparing various journal entries and account reconciliations for cash, prepaids, accruals, inter-company and interfund tracking, fixed assets and various other accounts.
  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable/Payable reports to general ledger.
  • Reconcile all investment and bank accounts, tracking premiums and discounts as necessary.
  • Reconcile Special Assessments and amortization schedules to general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile and track insurance claims to general ledger.
  • Peer review financial reports per department schedule for accuracy, provide guidance, feedback and corrections.
  • Assist Auditor to reconcile annual audits to general ledger and create audit adjustments.
  • Analyze incoming client financials and convert to CWD Group financial format and policies.
  • Reconcile and submit final reports for outgoing clients.
  • Provide support to association manager for all accounting related requests.
  • Provide clear communication in interpreting association's financial reports and supporting documents to stakeholders.
  • Interact with Client's Board of Directors and/or committees as required.
  • Provide solutions to clients with unique situations.
  • Ensure proper accounting policies and principles are followed in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist in project implementation of new procedures to support and enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
