About The Position

HUNTER is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Senior Account Executive to support communications for a global retail powerhouse at the center of how people shop today. This role is deeply rooted in the consumer space, focused on shaping visibility during major, culture-driving shopping moments and seasonal peaks that influence how millions discover and purchase products. As a key member of the team, you’ll lead best-in-class monitoring and reporting efforts, guiding junior staff while overseeing comprehensive, real-time coverage tracking across media landscapes—from traditional and digital to emerging platforms like Substack and podcasts. You’ll turn high volumes of consumer and retail media coverage into clear, compelling insights, delivering polished reports that capture performance during some of the most competitive moments in retail. You’ll also support the execution of integrated communications programs—helping bring retail-driven campaigns to life through strong storytelling, strategic thinking, and seamless coordination across teams. This role blends media relations, analytics, and project management, with a strong emphasis on consumer trends, shopping behavior, and cultural relevance. The ideal candidate brings experience managing large-scale media analysis, thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments, and has a strong interest in retail, consumer trends, and the moments that drive shopping at scale. A background in corporate communications and a sharp eye for what resonates with consumers will set you apart.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand the clients’ business and relevant industry trends and use the information to develop strategic PR ideas
  • Manage multiple projects
  • Train and mentor junior and mid-level staff
  • Effectively delegate work among team members
  • Travel to client and event locations; meet with clients at their office locations/headquarters
  • Demonstrate strong reporting, writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Monitor and track a large amount of traditional media, social media, and emerging media coverage stemming from client campaigns
  • Proactively communicate with clients and external teams
  • Maintain organization
  • Review and edit client deliverables with an extremely thorough and detail-oriented perspective
  • Show integrity and good judgment when working with colleagues and clients
  • Deal constructively with client and personnel situations
  • B.A. in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or the like
  • Three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in a public relations agency or similar position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Responsibilities

  • Drive effective implementation of client PR programs
  • Lead comprehensive coverage monitoring and reporting efforts for client campaigns
  • Handle communications with internal teams, client teams, and other external partners
  • Oversee the tracking of media coverage and the calculation of metrics/results against campaign goals
  • Manage people and projects to deliver high-quality results on-time
  • Anticipate issues
  • Delegate and assign work among junior team members; Effectively review and edit deliverables from junior team members
  • Make recommendations for ways to meet client needs
  • Serve as a representative of the client and agency on-site at client events
  • Provide thorough analysis to clients of program/campaign results, backed by metrics
  • Develop creative ideas and tactical elements for client programs
  • Serve as a client contact and maintain relationships with key client personnel
  • Accommodate and anticipate client needs; make recommendations to clients
  • Respond to requests for information from clients in a timely manner
  • Participate in client calls, meetings, presentations to the client and client brainstorms; attend client events
  • Maintain relationships with key media contacts; leverage those relationships to obtain desired media coverage on behalf of clients
  • Participate in agency brainstorm sessions for client programs
  • Actively participate in agency committees or departments as designated/asked
  • Demonstrate an interest in the long-range health of the agency
  • Represent the agency in professional associations
