About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the CANC 621D1 Seminars in Cancer Sciences course. The TA will be responsible for various tasks to support the instructors and students throughout the term. The course focuses on the four pillars of the PhD in Interdisciplinary Cancer Sciences Program: cancer biology, cancer therapeutics and diagnostics, cancer etiology, prevention and prognosis, and psychosocial oncology. Requirements

  • PhD student in at least their 2nd year of training in any discipline related to the 4 pillars of the PhD in Interdisciplinary Cancer Sciences Program: (1) cancer biology, (2) cancer therapeutics and diagnostics, (3) cancer etiology, prevention and prognosis, and (4) psychosocial oncology.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
  • English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Reading all course materials and papers assigned as student readings and for journal clubs.
  • Attending classes in-person (Thursdays, 9 AM – 11 AM).
  • Helping instructors evaluate student presentations.
  • Answering students’ emails.
  • Managing myCourses.
  • Coordinating with guest lecturers as needed.
