About The Position

St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is seeking a Semester Leave Replacement Teacher for a 3/4 Homeroom position in the Lower School. This role involves teaching the full range of homeroom content areas, including literacy, mathematics, and social studies, to students in Upper Elementary grades (3rd/4th). The ideal candidate will create developmentally appropriate curricula, foster a nurturing and engaging classroom environment, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents. The position is a full-time, exempt role, running from January 4, 2027, to June 11, 2027.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Demonstrated passion for teaching young learners.
• A track record of translating passion into effective practices that encourage students to think creatively, engage deeply with ideas, and lead with intellectual curiosity.
• Commitment to developing and practicing cultural competence in teaching.
• Ability to operate effectively in diverse environments while interacting successfully with people from widely varying backgrounds.
• Ability to create developmentally appropriate curricula.
• Ability to establish a supportive and engaging classroom environment for students.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and materials to meet the needs of all students.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching partner, other colleagues, and parents/guardians.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, students, and families.
• A collaborative style, an approachable demeanor, and a demonstrated ability to establish rapport and trusting relationships with people from diverse identities and cultural backgrounds.
• Experience teaching Lower School students in Upper Elementary grades (3rd/4th).
• Ability to teach the full range of homeroom content areas, including literacy, mathematics, and social studies.
