About The Position

The Montville Township Public School District is seeking a qualified educator to serve as a Third Grade Teacher – Leave Replacement at Cedar Hill Elementary School for the period of September 28, 2026 through about December 23, 2026. The successful candidate will provide instruction and supervision for third-grade students and will be responsible for planning and delivering standards-based instruction, assessing student learning, maintaining a positive and supportive classroom environment, communicating with families and staff, and carrying out other professional responsibilities associated with the assigned teaching position. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with building administrators, teachers, support staff, and families to support student achievement and social-emotional development.

Requirements

Valid New Jersey instructional certification appropriate for the assignment, including a New Jersey Elementary School K-6 (1001) or Preschool through Grade 3 (1013) endorsement, or another New Jersey instructional certificate/endorsement determined by the District and New Jersey Department of Education to be appropriate for the assignment.
Demonstrated knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional practices, classroom management, assessment, and student development.
Ability to plan and deliver effective, standards-based instruction for third-grade students.
Ability to establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and families.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Required criminal history background check pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:6-7.1 and any other employment requirements applicable to New Jersey public school employees, including required medical/TB documentation pursuant to applicable law and regulation.

Nice To Haves

Prior elementary teaching experience preferred.
