Part Time Self Storage Relief Manager
About The Position
Best Choice Self Storage, managed by Universal Storage Group, is seeking a part-time Relief Manager for its fast-paced self-storage retail environment. The position may involve working 24 hours per week or more and requires wearing many hats, including salesperson, customer service representative, marketer, cashier, and facility cleaner. The selected candidate receives a four-phase training program with a USG Certified Trainer covering sales, operations, auctions, and marketing techniques, along with ongoing training during the year and at the annual Company Meeting. Stores are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successfully complete a background check.
- Successfully complete a drug screen.
- Complete attitude and aptitude testing.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Required vision abilities include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently climb or balance, bend, kneel, crouch, or squat, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally sit for periods of time.
Responsibilities
- Greet everyone at the facility with a smile and a handshake.
- Help customers determine the best unit size before each rental.
- Complete rental paperwork correctly.
- Complete scheduled facility walk-throughs and lock checks.
- Post payments on the day they are received.
- Track and follow up on past-due accounts.
- Maintain customer records, including payment records and notes.
- Make daily bank deposits and post receipts as instructed.
- Conduct monthly marketing activities, including calls, visits, emails, social media postings, and events.
- Maintain merchandise for customer purchase.
- Clean vacant units to make them rentable.
- Keep the grounds, office, and bathrooms clean and presentable.
- Prepare auction units according to procedure and lien law as needed.
