About The Position
Security is responsible for carrying out security tasks for the marina, with safety as the primary responsibility. The role helps keep the marina safe by patrolling the property and preventing illegal or inappropriate actions. Security personnel are expected to project a professional company image in all interactions and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The position reports to the General Manager. Work is performed at assigned buildings and docks and includes climbing stairs indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The schedule must be flexible to include weekends and holidays during the busy season.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a security guard or in a relevant position.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Highly effective communication skills.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to climb stairs indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions, including rain, wind, and heat.
- Flexible schedule that includes working weekends and holidays during the busy season.
Responsibilities
- Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and permitting entry.
- Perform regular daily rounds of assigned buildings and docks.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policies and procedures.
- Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to the supervisor.
