About The Position

The Security Support position is responsible for monitoring the premises and surrounding work areas with occasional travel. This role helps maintain a safe and secure environment by observing for suspicious activity, assisting employees, clients and residents, and ensure the safety and well-being of company property and its occupants.

Requirements

  • Physical Requirements: This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving items or performing other work sometimes requiring heavy physical exertion, talking, and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.
  • Non-Physical Requirements: Education High School Diploma or General Equivalency diploma (GED), preferred
  • Experience 1 year experience in security or related field, preferred
  • Special Skills Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to understand both verbal and written instructions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with basic Security practices
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors as required during all seasons
  • Licensure, Registration, Certification Valid Washington State drives license and required minimum liability insurance for WA State
  • Employment is conditional upon: Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors, tenants and the premises
  • Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
  • Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
  • Use de-escalation techniques to help resolve conflicts and maintain a safe environment
  • Respond to concerns and complaints while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor
  • Patrol randomly or regularly the buildings and perimeters
  • Report any suspicious incidents immediately to the Security Supervisor and law enforcement if needed
  • Report maintenance concerns, damaged property, and unsafe conditions to Facilities Manager and Security Supervisor
  • Escort staff to and from their vehicle as requested
  • Keep perimeter of building clean and free of debris while on patrol
  • Check in with reception areas periodically to address any concerns
  • Provide support to maintenance with facility duties as directed by the Facilities Manager or Security Supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
