About The Position

The Security Supervisor assists the Security Manager in managing the security department staff and protecting industrial or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. The position oversees security operations at the JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District, including patrols, access control, incident response, safety procedures, and coordination with public safety agencies. The supervisor also supports staff interviews, scheduling, training, coaching, counseling, problem resolution, communication, and discipline recommendations.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Establish operational procedures for fire prevention and firefighting, traffic control, guarding and patrolling property, monitoring personnel handling classified information, and investigating accidents and criminal acts.
Collaborate with local government representatives to coordinate property activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
Periodically patrol buildings and grounds and report irregularities, including fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unlocked security doors.
Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
Warn people of rule infractions and apprehend or expel people engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Inspect equipment and machinery for signs of tampering.
Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
Sound alarms or contact police or the fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
Permit authorized persons to enter the property as necessary.
Register at watch stations to record inspection times.
Record property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning machinery or equipment for supervisory staff.
Perform janitorial duties and set thermostatic controls to maintain specified building or cold-storage temperatures.
Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the property entrance.
Assist with interviews, scheduling, training, coaching, counseling, problem resolution, open communication, and discipline recommendations.
