About The Position

Makena Beach & Golf Club is seeking a Full-Time Security Supervisor to join the Security team. This role is responsible for performing concierge-level protection services for high-net-worth members, guests, and prospects while assigned to mobile patrols. The position requires providing superior customer service, securing company assets (people, facilities, property), and protecting the company's reputation. The Security Supervisor must respond to emergency situations with urgency, maintain open communication with the Director of Security and external emergency services, and provide emergency and minor medical response as needed. Responsibilities include access control, detecting and denying unauthorized access, escalating safety hazards and security vulnerabilities, performing field audits, using computer systems for reports, and completing all necessary paperwork, including daily activity reports and detailed incident reports. The role also involves acting as a shift supervisor, overseeing security personnel, assigning and monitoring tasks, managing site activities, resolving issues, and overseeing contract service personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in a security officer role
  • Hawaii Guard Card required
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in unstable situations
  • Exceptional organizational skills with previous experience handling confidential issues
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
  • May be required to work outside of regular work hours at short notice.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time up to and including an entire shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform concierge level protection services for high net-worth members, guests and prospects while assigned to mobile patrols at Mākena.
  • Provide superior customer service to standards of Mākena.
  • Secure and protect all of the company’s assets: people, facilities, and property.
  • Protect the company’s reputation and intellectual assets with a focus on liability protection.
  • Respond to emergency situations with a sense of urgency and maintain open communication flow with Director of Security, across departments, and with external emergency services.
  • First point of contact for external emergency services.
  • Provide emergency and minor medical response as required.
  • Provide access-control utilizing sound judgment and company provided tools such as access control systems or access control lists and logs.
  • Detect, investigate, and deny access of unauthorized persons.
  • Recognize and escalate to management all safety hazards and security vulnerabilities detected through the course of their shift.
  • Perform regular field audits (checklists) for facilities and escalate findings to management.
  • Effectively use company provided computer systems to complete reports and audits.
  • Complete all paperwork and reports as necessary, including but not limited to a daily activity report.
  • Provide detailed reports on all events and incidents on property.
  • Respond efficiently to all Director of Security requests either via email, text or phone. Unless extenuating circumstances exist ALL correspondence MUST be answered within 4 hours.
  • Perform the role of shift supervisor to include supervision of security personnel on duty, assignment for and monitoring completion of tasks, taking responsibility for all site activities and resolving both internal and external issues as they arise.
  • Oversee and manage the daily operational needs of any contract service personnel in conjunction with department requiring the contract service.
