About The Position

The Security Supervisor assists the Security Manager with the day-to-day operation of the security department. The role includes supervisory duties, training new security pack members, and carrying out protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner when responding to emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances, and threats to life or property. The position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and pack members. The Security Supervisor may maintain department operations in the Security Manager’s absence, including on-call coverage when the manager is on vacation. The role also performs all supportive functions of a Security Officer and other duties assigned by the Security Manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience required.
One year in a continuous supervisory position or equivalent.
One year of experience in the hospitality or tourism-related field.
Computer experience and knowledge of Outlook/Outlook 365 and the MS Office suite, with the ability to learn payroll and daily activity/incident report programs.
Ability to work any shift.
Willingness to work most weekends and some holidays.
Security Officers must be at least 18 years old; employees must be at least 21 to operate company-owned or rented vehicles.
Thorough knowledge of building floor plans and layout, function rooms, and working knowledge of the city and surrounding area.
Ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers, including using patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
Ability to listen effectively and speak, read, and write English clearly to obtain and document important information.
Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for the duration of a shift.
Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, walk significant distances between and within buildings, climb stairs, and perform duties in extreme temperature ranges.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of prior security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Security Manager with daily paperwork review and follow-up, including daily activity reports, timecard reviews, and prior-day incident reports.
Inspect security equipment for operational status and report or repair equipment that does not meet standards.
Conduct foot patrols of the lodge interior and perimeter to identify security and safety risks or undesirable conditions; assess situations, make logical decisions, and direct work.
Maintain order in the lodge and support guest welfare, including assisting with door-lock problems and coordinating responses to fires, safety hazards, and threats to life or property.
Address undesired conduct and violations of lodge policy or civil laws as warranted to protect guests, pack members, patrons, and property.
Monitor security cameras for unusual activity and report suspicious behavior or alarms to the manager on duty by radio.
Complete daily reports and incident reports.
Administer CPR and first aid as needed.
Supervise shift operations and investigations conducted during the shift, and follow up until investigations are complete.
Promote a positive lodge guest experience.
Perform all supportive functions of a Security Officer.
Recommend and assist with decisions regarding department staffing levels and disciplinary action.
Maintain key issuance procedures using the KeyWatcher System and Salto System, and maintain contractor sign-out procedures.
Maintain the RedBeam System for company property issuance.
Maintain security department operations in the Security Manager’s absence, including on-call times when the manager is on vacation.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Manager.
