About The Position

The Security Specialist II helps maintain overall safety and security within the agency and supports the timely dissemination of security information across departments. The role assists with compliance, security procedures, classified material, personnel processing, security training, and related records and reporting. The position is primarily performed in an office environment and requires the ability to obtain and maintain the customer clearance needed for access to systems, facilities, equipment, and property, as well as the appropriate certifications for the position.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and 2–4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment, and property.
Must possess the appropriate level of certifications required for the position.

Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining overall agency safety and security.
Ensure compliance with security directives.
Assist with implementing security procedures, including control and management of Limited or Vault Type Rooms, access authorizations, and registration.
Assist with the control and handling of classified material.
Review classified visits, foreign visits and assignments, and foreign travel requests.
Help investigate, track, and report security infractions involving Federal and Contractor staff.
Assist with staff in-processing and out-processing, including initiating security clearance and badge applications, administering electronic questionnaires, and providing follow-up.
Assist with badge acquisition and turn-in, debriefings, and account terminations.
Track Federal compliance with annual security refresher training.
Maintain employee training records.
Assist with FACTS data entry for Foreign National Unclassified Visits and assignments.
