About The Position

Administers and coordinates all security activity for an assigned shift. This role ensures compliance with company policies and internal controls, directs employees in the security process, and ensures officers perform their duties properly and efficiently. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for preparing and approving daily shift reports, fostering teamwork within the department and with other departments, and maintaining employee attendance records and evaluations. Effective communication and networking with staff, other departments, and outside representatives are crucial for maintaining a productive and effective department operation. The position also involves safeguarding and accounting for owner assets, complying with policies and procedures from various commissions, monitoring the casino environment for safety, and working respectfully and effectively to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.

Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have one (1) year of security or related experience.
  • Requires six (6) months of supervisory experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable in gaming policies and procedures and have a good understanding of casino operations.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.
  • Applicant must not have a criminal history that includes a serious misdemeanor or above for such crimes as theft or any crimes which constitute moral depravity or moral corruption. A history of multiple simple misdemeanor crimes which show the pattern of a habitual violator will also be grounds for denial of employment.
  • At interview applicant must be able to pass a basic math test of 11 word problems missing no more than 4 problems. If the first test is failed, a second will be given with no more than 4 of 10 answers to be missed.
  • Must be able to work directly with the general public.
  • Requires the ability to see details at close range and from a distance.
  • Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations.
  • Requires comprehensive reading and writing skills.
  • Must possess poise and tact.
  • Must be self-motivated, responsible and must possess leadership qualities and effectively instruct and guide all subordinates.
  • Must be dependable, courteous and reliable.
  • Must be flexible with work shifts and days off.
  • Must have good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to meet all internal supervisory or higher, training and education requirements.

  • Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
  • Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
  • Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
  • Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, display a high level of personal cleanliness and follow personal appearance standards.
  • Knows and performs all Security functions.
  • Responsible for contacting law enforcement authorities when necessary.
  • Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
