About The Position

Kennywood is seeking a Security Senior Supervisor to join their security team. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees, requiring attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The ideal candidate will have prior security experience and a knack for creating a positive and friendly guest experience.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Current Security Supervisor in good standing within the Security Department.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in a supervisory role within the department.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience as a Security Supervisor.
  • Must work a minimum of 24 hours per week at Kennywood/Sandcastle.
  • Ability to perform under high-stress situations and manage critical incidents.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and leadership presence.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact professionally with leadership, team members, and guests.
  • Strong computer skills, including Omnigo, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to analyze situations, problem solve, and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong, proven ability to lead multiple teams or shifts effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage performance, accountability, and team engagement.
  • Ability to serve as a role model for professionalism, conduct, and departmental standards.
  • Requires standing for long periods, ability to walk long distances within the park, and exposure to variable outside and inside temperatures, including high heat.
  • Must be able to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasional bending, squatting and reaching above shoulders.

  • Prior security experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of Kennywood/Sandcastle Park rules and policies, communicate them clearly, and enforce them with a positive and courteous attitude.
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests and employees by recognizing and reporting potential hazards.
  • Assign, direct, and assist Officers/Aides with their duties, monitor their performance, and ensure incident reports are completed.
  • Assess qualifications and abilities of Security Officers/Aides, distribute assignments, and provide training.
  • Coordinate with other Park Departments to ensure proper deployment of Security Officers/Aides and completion of requested tasks.
  • Manage the distribution and collection of Department equipment and report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Disseminate new Policies or Procedures to staff, enforce them, and report any violations.
  • Act as a liaison between the Park and local Police Departments, assisting them on Park property.
  • Assist with scheduling, reassign personnel as needed due to scheduling/manpower issues, and notify management of any issues arising from call-offs.
  • Conduct daily inspections of Officers, their uniforms, and equipment to ensure neatness, cleanliness, and proper certification for carried equipment.
