About The Position

Johnson Security Bureau, Inc. is seeking a part-time Security Screening Officer in New York, NY. The role uses SmartTech x-ray software and screening equipment to help identify potential threats and maintain the safety of the premises. The position requires vigilance, attention to detail, procedural compliance, and integrity. Shifts will vary. The pay rate is $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

Valid New York State Security Guard License.
High school diploma or GED.
Prior professional experience in a security or screening role.
At least 2 years of service in any U.S. military branch.
Prior work in law enforcement or corrections.
Strong attention to detail, focus, and consistent work ethic.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Professional demeanor and appearance.
Authorization to legally work in the United States.
Successful completion of a drug test with negative results.
Comfort using screening software and equipment.
Ability to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, references, employment and education verification, and DMV/credit checks if applicable.
If previously in the military, provide a DD214 discharge document with status upon job offer.
Meet licensing requirements mandated by state or local regulations.

Responsibilities

Inspect bags and items using x-ray screening equipment.
Analyze screening images and determine whether additional inspection is required.
Communicate findings and concerns to appropriate personnel and supervisors.
Identify and respond to suspicious items or alarm triggers.
Record incidents and observations accurately and professionally.
Maintain alertness and situational awareness at all times.
Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
