About The Position

Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services is hiring a Security Screener for its canine group. The Security Screener uses SmartTech x-ray software and screening equipment to inspect items and images of bags and cargo, identify objects that warrant further investigation, and alert screeners, handlers, or other appropriate personnel to possible problems. The role also involves providing customer service, following safety and site-specific security procedures, responding to incidents, and conducting patrols. Work environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Have prior work experience in a professional security setting.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
• Inspect items using x-ray viewing equipment to determine whether they contain objects warranting further investigation.
• View images of bags and cargo using remote screening equipment and alert baggage screeners or handlers to possible problems.
• Communicate situation details to appropriate personnel.
