About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an unarmed Security Professional for a hospital assignment. The role involves foot and/or vehicle patrols inside and outside the hospital, access control, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, preparing reports, and deterring criminal activity and misconduct. The position is safety-sensitive and requires drug screening to the extent permitted by law. Because the assignment is in a healthcare facility, a tuberculosis test and certain vaccinations may be required.

The schedule is flex/on-call as needed. The position is described as suitable for candidates seeking part-time work, with the opportunity to build up to a schedule of as many as 40 hours per week and the option to scale back. The pay rate is $24 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• At least two years of verifiable employment history related to customer service or the protective service industry.
• At least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in security, healthcare, the military, law enforcement, or corrections.
• Military service in an occupational specialty related to law enforcement or security, such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, or combat arms, or any support role in a combat zone.
• Graduation from a certified public safety academy, military or civilian, or verified work experience in law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighting.
• Bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or related studies.
• At least eight years of service in any military branch.
• Associate's degree or at least 60 credits in law enforcement or criminal justice, together with current or prior active military service.

Responsibilities

• Perform hospital-ground security patrols on foot or in a vehicle and document unusual conditions that may pose security concerns or safety hazards.
• Assist hospital staff with de-escalating situations involving patients and restrain combative individuals as necessary, following company and customer guidelines.
• Transport patients to the morgue as needed.
• Assist with escorting patients from the helicopter pad to the emergency room.
• Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
• Sound alarms or contact police or fire departments in cases of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn individuals about rule violations, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying prohibited items.
• Control entry to and exit from the property, monitor entrances and exits, and ensure only authorized individuals enter or leave the hospital and that contraband or hospital property is not brought in or removed.
• Observe departing personnel to deter theft of company property and ensure authorized removals comply with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports about accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required.
• Conduct unarmed interior and/or exterior foot or vehicle patrols.
• Control access and egress, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, compose reports, and deter criminal activity and misconduct.
