About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients in industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use an exclusive shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts according to their availability, gaining experience across different sites. The role offers flexible scheduling and may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice.

The officer performs security patrols, monitors for safety and security concerns, controls access, responds to incidents, and provides courteous assistance to customers, employees, and visitors. The position pays $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• No prior experience required.
• Be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by state law; 21 years of age if armed.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Ability to adapt to different post assignments and demonstrate reliability.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, accurately, and informatively.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess situations, identify critical issues quickly and accurately, and mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, to the extent permitted by law, a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
