About The Position

Under general supervision from the Supervisor of Security/Safety, the Security & Safety Guard helps maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel on the Glencroft campus. The role allows for a wide latitude in independent decisions and requires discretionary judgment. The successful candidate must have a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill, and/or disabled persons, and must be able to communicate fluently in English or take and give direction or guidance in English.

Responsibilities

Maintain regular attendance as an essential function of the position.
Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property and inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points.
Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policies and procedures, and escorting trespassers off campus.
Maintain a secure environment by completing scheduled lockups and unlocks of campus buildings.
Assist residents in emergency situations, contact EMS as required, and allow EMS entry into residential units to access and assist residents.
Complete all DAR logs and checklists.
Submit work order requests through Worxhub and Web Help Desk.
Work with other Security & Safety staff and other staff to properly monitor campus.
Complete required Event Reports through thorough documentation of observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interview witnesses and obtain signatures.
Comply with all federal, state, and local standards and requirements.
Support the command center and other security and safety areas during emergencies as requested.
Perform other duties as required.
