About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced in Valparaiso, Indiana, at a utilities-related industrial location. The position provides a designated site and weekly anchor shift with a required six-month commitment. In addition to the fixed shift, officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust their schedule as needed. The posted pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The scheduled anchor shift is Sunday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.

The officer provides customer service while following security procedures and site-specific policies, responds to incidents and alarms, patrols facility areas, monitors access, and documents and reports activity, hazards, and policy concerns. Applicants must meet the age requirement for the role, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and undergo applicable background and drug screening. Licensing may be required under state or local rules.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or 21 years old for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
• Commit to the assigned site and weekly anchor shift for six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a utilities-related industrial location.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following site protocols and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility buildings, production areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor site access, verify authorized personnel and visitors, and maintain accurate activity, visitor, and incident documentation.
• Observe and report unusual activity, equipment concerns, hazards, and policy violations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
