About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer at a front desk in a logistics and distribution location near Key Port, New Jersey, you will provide a welcoming, visible presence while supporting access control, visitor management, and security-related communications. You will use computer or tablet systems to document activity, respond to inquiries, and help maintain an organized environment. The role is scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM and pays $17.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and delivery personnel at the front desk, following site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Greet visitors, verify identification and appointments, issue credentials as authorized, and maintain accurate visitor records.
• Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and communication systems from the front desk; report unusual activity, access concerns, and facility issues to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and critical situations calmly and professionally, following established response procedures.
• Answer phones, direct inquiries, receive deliveries, and communicate clearly with site personnel, drivers, and emergency responders as needed.
