Security Officer Full Time Transitional Housing
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Unarmed Security Officer at a government services location in New York, NY. The officer will help safeguard clients, staff, residents, and visitors by maintaining a visible presence, patrolling assigned areas, monitoring access points, and responding professionally to security concerns. The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, teamwork, and integrity. The scheduled shifts are Monday and Tuesday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The pay rate is $18.87 per hour. Applicants must have a valid New York State Security Guard License, at least one year of security-related experience, be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on a background investigation and, where legally permitted, a drug screen.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, staff, residents, and visitors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility interiors, exterior areas, entrances, and perimeters, identifying and reporting unusual conditions or policy concerns.
- Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and remain aware of visitor activity.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, requesting additional assistance when needed.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and promptly communicate incidents, observations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
