Security Officer Full Time Transitional Housing
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer to support a government location in New York, NY. The officer will help safeguard clients, staff, visitors, and individuals accessing government-operated services by maintaining a visible presence, patrolling assigned areas, monitoring access points, and providing professional customer service. The role includes responding to incidents and emergencies, following site-specific procedures, and documenting and communicating relevant observations. The position pays $18.87 per hour. The schedule is 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation, as a condition of employment.
- Submit to a drug screen, to the extent permitted by law.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, staff, and individuals accessing government-operated services by following site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, and report unauthorized entry, suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events; request support or emergency services when appropriate.
- Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and required documentation.
- Communicate observations and relevant information to site representatives and Allied Universal leadership.
