About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time unarmed Security Officer at a government-operated housing services location in New York, NY. The officer will help safeguard residents, visitors, staff, and the site by monitoring assigned areas and access points, conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, and providing customer service and communication. The role also includes responding professionally to resident concerns and incidents, documenting observations, and following site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities. The schedule is Wednesday through Friday, 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The pay rate is $18.87 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff while following site-specific policies, security procedures, and applicable emergency response activities.
Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed, and remain aware of activity throughout the location.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations; document and report observations according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Communicate professionally with site personnel, residents, visitors, and responding public service agencies when needed.
