About The Position

As a Security Officer at a retail location in Tampa, Florida, you will help safeguard clients and create a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and visitors. This driving, unarmed patrol role combines customer service, communication, and security-related response skills. You will conduct patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor activity, respond to situations, and follow site-specific policies and procedures.

Requirements

At least one year of security-related experience.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Loss prevention experience.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, shoppers, and staff while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations; communicate with site contacts or first responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random foot or vehicle patrols in retail common areas, parking facilities, exterior walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points, observe activity, and report unusual conditions, hazards, or policy violations according to site procedures.
Assist with directing visitors and providing information.
Maintain detailed incident and patrol documentation.
