About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for an unarmed patrol and badge administration assignment at a financial institution in Paterson, New Jersey. The role provides a fixed weekly shift at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment, and offers the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Additional shifts may allow the schedule to grow to as many as 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The listed pay rate is $21.00 per hour. The scheduled shift is Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Security Officer provides customer service to employees, customers, and visitors; carries out site security procedures; responds to incidents and alarms; patrols banking areas and the surrounding perimeter; monitors access points; and documents and reports security-related activity. Employment is contingent on applicable background investigation and drug screening. State or local licensing may be required before employment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• State or local licensing may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Guard card or license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, customers, and visitors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a financial institution.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of banking areas, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and vendor activity according to site procedures, reporting unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, patrol activities, and security observations in required reports, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
