Security Officer - Identity Verification
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for identity verification and access control at a logistics and distribution location in South Bend, Indiana. The role helps maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and supporting security procedures. The officer provides customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel, communicates with team members and visitors, and remains visible to help deter incidents. The posted pay rate is $17.22 per hour. The schedule is Monday and Sunday, 12:00 AM–8:00 AM.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet licensing requirements that may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations; licensing may be required before employment.
- Have a valid driver's license only if applying for a driving position.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and vehicle records, and communicate access concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations, following established post instructions and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, trailer yards, loading areas, and the facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and irregular conditions accurately and promptly using required reporting tools.
